PRP for Dark Circles
The skin around the eyes is particularly thin and sensitive. PRP can support this area in a targeted way. What matters is knowing the cause of the dark circles.
Dark circles under the eyes have different causes. Sometimes it is thin, tired skin, sometimes shadows from the bone structure, sometimes a loss of volume. Only some of these causes can be sensibly addressed with PRP, which is why a careful assessment always comes first.
When PRP can make sense for the eye area
If the dark circles are mainly due to weakened, thin skin, PRP addresses a suitable point. The growth factors are intended to improve skin quality in this area and stimulate circulation. The aim is a fresher, less tired-looking eye area.
What studies on the eye area show
The data specifically on the eye area is limited, but there are indications. In a small study, participants received an intradermal PRP injection in the area of the tear trough and the crow’s feet. Around three months later, there was a statistically significant improvement in colour homogeneity below the eyes, meaning a more even appearance. Other measured values did not change significantly. Results like these from small groups are a cautious signal, not a guarantee. That is exactly why we check beforehand whether your dark circles are among the cases where PRP can help.
The procedure
After the analysis of the eye area, the plasma is obtained from your blood and introduced very gently into the skin below the eyes. The treatment is carried out under the medical direction of Reza P. Azar. Slight swelling or redness is possible in the first few days.

Frequently asked questions about PRP for dark circles
Does PRP help with dark circles?
PRP aims to strengthen the skin of the eye area and stimulate circulation. For dark circles caused by thin, tired skin, this can be an option. For dark circles caused by shadows or loss of volume, other approaches make more sense. We clarify the cause beforehand.
Is treatment of the eye area uncomfortable?
The eye area is sensitive. We work with corresponding care and can use a numbing cream if needed. Most people find the treatment easy to tolerate.
