PRP Treatment for Face & Skin in Berlin

The body’s own regeneration for your skin, entirely without foreign substances. On request, we extend scalp treatment to include the skin, or treat it on its own.

Skin ages visibly because the body’s own renewal slows down over the years. This is exactly where PRP comes in: it brings the regenerative messenger substances from your own blood to where the skin can use some support.

How PRP is intended to work on the skin

During the treatment, the prepared plasma is introduced into the upper layers of the skin. The growth factors it contains are intended to stimulate cell activity and support the formation of collagen, the structure that gives skin its firmness and elasticity. Because the skin needs time to renew itself, the result develops gradually over several weeks.

A key player here is the fibroblast, the connective tissue cell that produces new collagen. In the specialist literature, growth factors such as PDGF are regarded as a stimulus for these cells and for collagen synthesis. In skin samples taken as part of studies after PRP treatment, there were indications of a thicker connective tissue layer and increased deposition of collagen and elastic fibres. That is precisely the aim of this approach: not filling from the outside, but prompting the skin’s own renewal.

Possible areas of application on the face

  • overall skin appearance and skin elasticity
  • fine lines and tired-looking areas of skin
  • the delicate eye area, for example with dark circles

Which areas are suitable and what result is realistic is something we clarify in your personal skin analysis. We have summarised the details for the eye area on a separate page.

What the research shows

There is a growing number of studies on PRP treatment of facial skin. In a controlled study comparing PRP with an injection containing no active substance, fine lines on the PRP side were measurably reduced after the treatment series, accompanied by greater thickness of the dermis in the tissue samples. Other studies with several monthly sessions report improvements in skin texture, elasticity and smoothness. At the same time, the evidence is inconsistent, the preparation methods are not standardised and many studies are small. We communicate this openly: PRP can support the appearance of your skin, but it is not a miracle cure and does not replace healthy skin care.

Treatment rhythm

As with the scalp, PRP on the face works through a series. Several sessions a few weeks apart are usual, followed by top-up treatments. This gives the skin repeated impulses instead of a single one. We determine the right rhythm individually after the skin analysis.

The procedure at our practice

The procedure follows the proven PRP principle: consultation and skin analysis, blood sampling, preparation of the plasma and targeted introduction into the skin. All under the medical direction of Reza P. Azar. Slight redness is possible after the appointment and usually subsides quickly.
